This course is specifically designed to meet the timetabling needs of schools and trusts that have migrated or plan to migrate from SIMS to Arbor or other MIS. The one-day course is designed to provide the essential knowledge and skills required to construct a timetable in TimeTabler by a timetable constructor already familiar with NovaT6 construction. Each course is limited to a maximum of ten delegates, thus allowing the trainer to spend individual time with each delegate.
The details of the 2025-26 courses are now confirmed, booking details below. We deliver both face-to-face and virtual courses, but we encourage schools to consider the benefits of face-to-face delivery as we consider this is often the best method to ensure delegates get the most from the training and ensure it fully meets their needs.
Who is it for?
This is an ideal course for timetable constructors familiar with NovaT6 who need to convert to TimeTabler for construction. The course would also useful for constructors who are evaluating whether TimeTabler is the right software to migrate to in the future. Finally, it would also suit other staff who wish to gain insight into timetable construction using TimeTabler, having had experience with NovaT6 in the past.
Course content
The course focuses on the basic principles involved in putting together a timetable, including:
- Overview of differences between NovaT6 and TimeTabler
- Input of basic data; School Structure, Subjects, Rooms, Teachers, Classes
- Curriculum models as activity batches – Pure Class, Simple Block, Container Block and Linked Groups

Please note a TimeTabler licence is NOT included in the cost of the course, however, we can offer schools a 30% discount off the price of the software if purchased through us.
