Director’s Statement
As a school leader with 35 years of education experience in the Midlands, Wales and Merseyside, I know what it takes to produce rapid school improvement. I have considerable experience of leading schools in challenging circumstances to facilitate transformation out of special measures and into good and outstanding.
I know the importance of a well-constructed timetable for student progress and teacher wellbeing. I have seen first-hand how timetable construction can help to drive whole school improvement. I am passionate about helping schools manage their limited resources effectivity to enhance student learning. That is why we chose our company name ‘Proficio’ which means to help, assist and advance. That is what Proficio Education seeks to do; to enhance what is already there and help to take it further.
Stuart Hodgkinson – Company Director
Stuart Hodgkinson is a Cambridge science graduate with twenty five years’ teaching and leadership experience in a variety of comprehensive schools. His thirteen years of senior school leadership have all been spent in Merseyside schools facing challenging circumstances. His proven leadership skills have given rise to clear whole school improvements, most notably in becoming the third most improved school in England and becoming the first ever ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated school in his local authority.
In 2014, he established Proficio Education as a secondary school consultancy with particular expertise with timetabling, curriculum and leadership development. He provides national training and consultancy for ASCL and since 2018, has been accredited by the DfE as a School Resource Management Advisor (SRMA). He has worked for The Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) and School Business Services as a senior consultant and SRMA assessor. He delivers consultancy and training programmes in Curriculum Design, Integrated Curriculum and Financial Planning, Timetable Construction and School Leadership. He regularly delivers training for a wide variety of audiences online and at conference and training workshops. Clients include the Department for Education, Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), Institute of School Business Leaders (ISBL), MATs, LAs and schools nationwide.
