Overview
This is a new face to face course for 24-25. In recognition of the recent increase in schools using TimeTabler in conjunction with Arbor or other MIS, we are delighted to be able to build on our hugely successful NovaT6 course to now add this TimeTabler-focused course. Each course is limited to a maximum of six delegates thus allowing the trainer to spend individual time with each delegate.
The details of the 2024-25 courses are now confirmed, booking details below. All of our advertised courses are face to face as we believe this is the best delivery model for ensuring delegates get the most from the training and ensure it fully meets their needs. We do also offer an equivalent virtual course, and will deliver these when there is sufficient demand. If you prefer to participate in a virtual course, contact us.
The two-day, face-to-face course is designed to provide the essential knowledge and skills to construct a school timetable using TimeTabler software. Level 2 is the level considered necessary for someone responsible for constructing a standard secondary school timetable.
Who is it for?
This is an ideal course for staff with a new responsibility for constructing the school timetable but could also be useful for staff wanting to refresh their skills after a period away from construction. It would also be perfect for more experienced timetable constructors who have recently moved to using TimeTabler software for the first time.
Level 2 assumes some knowledge of school timetables but the course is suitable for those with little or no prior knowledge of TimeTabler. To provide for the best possible individual support, we only allow a maximum of six delegates on this course.
Course content
Day 1 focuses on the basic principles involved in putting together a timetable, including:
- Curriculum planning and delivery
- Maximizing staff resources
- Budget and cost implications of construction
- Principles of timetable construction
- Introduction to TimeTabler as a tool for construction
Day 2 focuses on developing knowledge and skills of TimeTabler and includes:
- Curriculum design within TimeTabler Activity menu
- Container Blocks and Linked Groups functionality
- Managing teacher deployment
- TimeTabler tools for checking timetable validity
- Manual and Automatic scheduling
- Printing and checks
- Timetable export
All the sessions will be highly interactive with the emphasis on providing the ‘hands on’ skills that a timetable constructor needs. The training allows participants to focus on timetabling issues in their home school and to work on finding creative solutions.
In addition to the two days, this course also offers a complimentary half day bespoke support for timetable constructors as they go through their construction journey.
Cost
The full two day course costs £400 + VAT per delegate. This includes:
- lunch
- all written and electronic resources
- an additional half day bespoke timetable consultancy during the timetable construction period.
